Results from TEE
Mark had a TEE (transesophageal endocardiography) this morning. The test involved placing a scope down Mark's throat to the esophagus to allow the Cardiologist to view Mark's heart from behind. As we mentioned last night, the echocardiogram they did yesterday showed a mass in one of the chambers of his heart. The TEE was done today to get a better view of the mass in an effort to determine what it is. Unfortunately, the TEE indicated the presence of another abnormality or mass in the superior vena cava or SVC which is a vein that leads to the heart. In addition, the Cardiologist is still uncertain exactly what the masses are. They could be clots, vegetations (a collection of bacteria, platelets, proteins, etc.), or a combination of the two. So, right now, we are waiting for the Transplant Team to consult with the Cardiologists to determine what to do. They started Mark on a blood thinner. Please continue to pray.

You all are in our prayers.
Teresa
We'll certainly be praying. I'm shocked and incredibly sad with what all you guys have been going through. I'm sorry to say I didn't realize just what all has been happening. My love and prayers to all three of you.
I am so sorry to hear all of this. Just know that the cardiologist and transplant team at UK are excellent, excellent doctors. They were the ones who helped my Dad, and Dr. Bonnell and his team performed my Dad's heart bypass and done a wonderful job. If my Dad would have went through with a lung transplant, Dr. Bonnell would have been the one to perform that as well, and we had all faith it would have been successful, but Dad didn't want to go through with it. I will be praying very hard for Mark, and Kellie and the baby, and the entire family. You guys have been through so much and I'm really saddened by all of this. Let me know if I can do anything at all. God Bless.....
Praying for you all during this time..not knowing everything is faith..turn it loose and God will take the burden as HE walks with you thru this time..I know that this may be easy for me to say..simce I'm not going thru it..but have been thru some tough times in the past..and believe that He is there with you!
Love you both,
Jane & Tommy Cawood
